This place is empty everything we arrive on our drive through Hana. We recommended having a car with high clearance, but if you have the skills and patience you can get there. I think this can make a very nice picnic location, but be warned the bathrooms are closed here. Great picturesque location

Beautiful place to see. Slow driving and enjoy the views.
We visited this church to start our sea-to-summit Haleakala hike. This area is beautiful during sunrise and its very easy to get all the way to the water. The drive down (and back up if you so choose) is rocky, but can be done in any car with enough clearance. From here, it's back up the road and toward the start of the Haleakala trailhead. A gorgeous start to a gorgeous hike!
