Amazing retreat with outdoor shower, nice kitchen, very comfortable bed and quiet, private, serene setting, yet close to beaches, hikes and limited dining choices. The parking is interesting, up a steep driveway and turning around can be tricky, but so worth the effort. There is only one Yurt available for overnight stays, we would definitely come back! Also, the Spa treatments are a must whether you stay here or elsewhere. We both enjoyed deep tissue massages and facials.
Restaurants are somewhat sparse. At the bottom of the driveway is what seems to be a very popular Thai food truck, very busy, they always run out of the specials and they close at 4 pm. Sometimes people walk up the driveway which can be bothersome, but nice to have food so close! We cooked most of our meals at the yurt. We did eat one dinner at the Hana Ranch Restaurant, great food, service and atmosphere. Easy going, friendly and not too expensive! Also, if you need ANYTHING, you might find it at Hasagawa General Store!
We also had difficulty finding extra things (ie. dish soap, lighters for bug coils) as they were not marked or listed clearly. We also couldn't ask since we couldn't reach anyone. We encountered a couple on our second last day who had arrived for a treatment but, again, could not get a hold of staff. Even with American phone plans, there was poor-to-no reception.

Rained the whole time we were here, but the sound of the rain on the yurt made it that much more special. The accommodations were very nice, and massage was fantastic. Highly recommended for couples.
First off, my husband and I went for a spa day here. We both did 3 treatments: massage, body wrap and facial. We were in the Westin located on the other side of the island. Google told us 2.5 hours to drive here on the road to Hana, we gave ourselves 3 hours and it ended up being 3.5 hours. Needless to say we were late but the girls were more than accommodating.
This is a true outdoor spa, our massages and body wraps were over looking Hana bay. It was so relaxing with the wind, water and rain half way through our services. All in all when we come back to Maui, we will be making another day at this serenity.
Overall, the poor communication kind of took away from it, but we are still glad that we had a nice place to stay and retreat in Maui.

No TV, but bring a couple CD'S or be prepared by bring music on your phone.
Unfortunately, wifi was extremely weak, and we could not connect at all. We had difficulty getting in touch with the staff since they were not at the office, and we couldn't call them without internet connection. Eventually, we drove around until we found a spot in a restaurant and was able to shoot them an email to discuss how to make our payment.

Was definitely a great idea to stay here on our journey through Hana Highway. We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed the amenities. Location was perfect and photos are very true to what you get. The outdoor washroom was a nice touch!
