Now that you’ve driven all this way to Hana, what’s there to do? First get something to eat at Braddah Hutts and then visit the red sand beach. Finding parking on Uakea Rd. can be challenging as well at locating the trail head but you should still go. Once on the short trail, be careful of the loose cinders that you walk on. It can cause you to slide on steep sections. At the beach, there are no restrooms, lifeguards or trash bins. The waves and current can be strong so do not go out beyond the rocks offshore. The red sand is striking against the blue waters and that alone makes visiting here on your Hana trip a must see.
This is totally worth the very dangerous hike. It’s not visible from the street, you literally have to walk around the cliff (on it to be more precise) in order to get to the beach. Caution - it’s gorgeous, but it’s more pebbles and rocks than sand. But really scenic, and during the morning nearly empty.
Beautiful beach.
