Incredibly beautiful spot! Definitely worth to walk along the coast path for a bit. They definitely need to change the way the campsite is managed. Even though they have staff on site you can only pay online, but there is no internet or cell reception there. So even though the campsite was completely empty we weren't allowed to stay because they can't sell you a permit there. Every other NP we've ever been to just has a self registration box and it works a treat...

The black volcanic sand beach looks amazing against the rich blue waves. The vegetation is a vibrant green and lush. There are people who camp here too.

It is definitely worth the drive. We can spend hours here just watching the waves pound the volcanic rocks.

Probably my favorite area of Maui. Great place to explore and find so much beauty. What is better than warm blue ocean water? Not much. But add a tropical jungle to the mix and you’ve found paradise. The natural wave pool brought so much joy to everyone swimming. And that was just one small part of this park.

One of the more interesting spots along Hana highway. This is a well established park with many things to do. There is a camp ground here. Some of the most vivid black beach I have ever seen. Having the dark black rocks and the bright green foliage made for some great contrast for pictures. We spent some time watching the cove and spotted 3 sea turtles floating along in the surf. The volcano tube is also a must see. My second favorite stop along the road to Hana.

What a beautiful spot off the Hana Highway! Free to visit, easy parking, toward the end of the highway. Black sand beaches, incredible views of the ocean. A blow hole with ocean spray. Lava rocks, hike along the cliff. So cool! This may have been my favorite stop along the highway. Definitely go see it! You can also camp here which I bet would be amazing to have the beach all to yourself in the mornings.

The most beautiful place in Maui that we enjoy coming to. The exit is easy to miss and the road down to the park is in poor condition and narrow, and it's all the way by Hana after that long and winding drive....but it's gorgeous here.
